Neptis is a regular polygon of 12 even sides. Upon one facet, a hole is drilled to place a single flower. Held at an oblique angle, the flower extends from the vase like the stroke of a calligrapher’s pen.
The flower and water are put in a glass tube (which comes with the vase) which is then be placed in the hole of the vase.
Tom Brooksbank comments: “When I was a child, my mother read me The Little Prince by Antoine de Sant-Exupery. Allan and I thought of the book’s miniature planet whilst designing Neptis – the planet with the single flower growing on it. – it’s a very playful piece.”
Each vase is handmade by a master modelmaker in Shropshire, UK. The vases are polished to a satin finish and each piece carries with it the unique individual handmade signature of its maker. Neptis is available in either Satin Black or Satin Pale Green.
